Star Wars: The Old Republic’s latest extension, the space combat mode Galactic Starfighter, has followed the MMO’s free-to-play content. The dog-fighting game within a game had until this day the “preferred status players” only, but now the gates are open for any player willing to try it.
The Starfighter is launching with new features to the 12v12 game-play. Gamers can enjoy now new team deathmatches, new pilot suits or can even choose a bomber-class ship with proximity mines or combat drones. The additional expansions are expected to be released in 2014, also, according to the new development roadmap posted yesterday by senior producer Bruce Maclean.
He is giving a hint about the overall image: “Expect to see two digital expansions in 2014 just like you did last year, with one similar to Galactic Starfighter in scope and one more closely resembling Rise of the Hutt Cartel.”
